U.S. forces carried out a midnight raid on Bakuuja Well in Togga Mareero, an area believed to be a key hideout for senior ISIS operatives.
The location lies approximately 39KM from the city of Bosaso.Initial reports indicate that two ISIS members were captured alive, though their nationalities have not yet been disclosed.
A direct clash also took place between U.S. forces and ISIS fighters, with several militants reported killed. The exact number remains unconfirmed.
U.S. forces also conducted an airstrike on the same area earlier today, signaling that Bakuuja has become the last major pocket where ISIS militants remain in the Bari mountains.
Officials familiar with the operation confirmed that last night’s assault was concentrated solely on Bakuuja Well, where ISIS fighters are now believed to be cornered.
